How to install widgets on Blogger

If you own a blog, creating content isn’t enough to make it grow.

First, you want to build a mailing list to make sure you can reach your readers via inbox. Second, you need to have a tool to promote your calls to action right on the website – easily, without having to deal with the code.

For these tasks, widgets for Blogspot are a tried and tested solution.

In this quick tutorial, we’ll show you how to install Getsitecontrol widgets on your Blogger website. This is what they may look like:

But email subscription forms aren’t the only type of widgets you can create with Getsitecontrol. This no-code app allows you to build any custom form or popup including:

  • ✔️ contact & feedback forms
  • ✔️ polls and online surveys
  • ✔️ promotional banners

These widgets can appear as modal popups, fullscreen welcome pages, sticky bars, slide-ins, or buttons. You’ll be able to customize their design and the conditions when they are displayed. For instance, you may want to display some popups after a visitor scrolls down 50% of your blog post and others – just before they exit the website.

Now that we’ve sorted that out, let’s see how to add Getsitecontrol widgets to your Blogger website. And don’t worry. The process doesn’t require any technical skills and will only take you a few minutes.

How to add Getsitecontrol widgets to Blogspot website

The first step is to connect the Getsitecontrol app to your website. To do it, you need to add a small piece of code (script) into the code of the Blogspot page. The code needs to be added only once.

Below, we’ll show exactly where to copy the code and where to paste it, step by step.

1. Sign in to Getsitecontrol

Sign in to your Getsitecontrol account. If you don’t have an account yet, create one. Once registered, you’ll be asked to add your website address.

2. Copy the code

Find the Install code button at the top of the page and click it.

That's it! Now you can go back to your Getsitecontrol dashboard and create widgets for your Blogger website.

Create your first Blogger widget in Getsitecontrol

Getsitecontrol is designed with non-techies in mind, and it makes the widget creation process as easy as 1-2-3.

To get started, go to the Getsitecontrol dashboard and hit Create widget. From there, you can either pick a widget for your Blogger website from the popup gallery or you can create one from scratch.

If you decide to go the second route, here are the steps to follow:

  1. From the dropdown menu in the top left corner, decide if you want to create a form or a message. If you select the former, you’ll be able to build an email sign-up, contact, or survey form with customizable fields. If you need to create a call to action with a button, choose the latter option.

  2. Select the webpage position for the widget and a layout template. Press Continue→.

  3. On the Content tab, adjust the default text to match the tone of your blog. Edit or add new fields if needed.
