Elfsight vs Getsitecontrol: What's The Best Popup Builder for Growth

Giorgia Mangoni Giorgia Mangoni

Choosing between Elfsight Popup and Getsitecontrol involves more than finding a signup template you like. You also need to consider how many people your popups can reach, how precisely you can target an offer, and what happens after someone leaves their email address.

Getsitecontrol brings popup creation, contact management, and email marketing together. You can build signup forms, test different offers, and run newsletters, promotional broadcasts, and automated email campaigns from the same platform. It works with WordPress, Squarespace, and other websites, with a dedicated Shopify app for campaigns based on products, carts, and customer activity.

Elfsight Popup is one app within a broader collection of website widgets. It lets you create signup forms, promotional messages, and feedback popups, with configurable designs and display rules. It can send an automatic response to a form submission and pass leads to an external service, while newsletters and longer email campaigns require a separate email platform.

This comparison looks at the popup products, their costs, and the tools available to turn visitors into subscribers and customers. Prices and features were checked in October 2026. For current Getsitecontrol plans, see the pricing page.

Short answer

Choose Getsitecontrol if you want to grow your list and turn signups into ongoing email campaigns. Free includes 10,000 monthly widget displays, unlimited widgets and contacts, detailed reporting, a visual email editor, newsletters, promotional broadcasts, and multi-step automations. Pro adds advanced popup targeting, answer-based form branching, and popup and email A/B testing for $19 per month; Pro Max removes the widget-view limit for $29 per month. Email sending is billed separately.

Elfsight starts at a lower paid price: $6 per month for three Popup widgets and 5,000 monthly widget loads. Paid plans also cover unlimited websites. That can suit a few straightforward messages across several low-traffic sites. But the view-counting method, widget limits, and lack of native popup split testing make it a more restrictive choice for developing your campaigns.

Elfsight Popup pricing vs Getsitecontrol

Free plans and included features

Getsitecontrol’s Free plan gives you enough capacity to run real campaigns: 10,000 widget displays each month, with no limit on how many widgets you create. You can build a newsletter popup, an inline signup form, and a promotional bar without choosing which one deserves your only available slot.

The visual editor, mobile customization, multi-step forms, conditional fields, dynamic text, and detailed popup reports are included. Free also gives you unlimited contact storage, audience segments, a visual email editor, newsletters and promotional broadcasts, and automated email sequences. You can collect a signup, send the promised offer, and continue with relevant campaigns without adding another email tool. Email sends are purchased separately.

Elfsight’s Free plan allows one Popup widget and 200 monthly widget loads. It provides access to the popup builder, but the allowance is small for a live website. Even a modest volume of traffic can exhaust it before the end of the month. Both free plans display platform branding.

Getsitecontrol Free features: a complete overview

Getsitecontrol Pro costs $19 per month for 100,000 widget displays. Pro Max costs $29 per month for unlimited displays and the same advanced popup features. Annual billing brings them to $14 and $21 per month, paid as $168 and $252 per year.

Both paid plans add advanced audience targeting, behavioral triggers, scheduling, answer-based form branching, popup A/B testing, invisible reCAPTCHA, custom CSS, and branding removal. For email marketing, they add broadcast A/B tests, advanced sending modes, HTML template imports, and unique Shopify coupon codes. Contact Quality scores help you exclude risky addresses, and paid sending rates are lower.

Elfsight’s regular paid plans cost $6, $12, and $24 per month. They increase both the number of Popup widgets you can create and their shared view allowance. Enterprise plans raise those limits further; unlimited views are available on Enterprise T4.

A standard Getsitecontrol subscription covers one website. Multi-website discounts and custom plans are available on request, and existing customers retain their subscription price as new features are added. Elfsight’s paid plans cover unlimited websites, but those sites share one monthly allowance for the Popup app. Several low-traffic websites may fit Elfsight’s entry plan; a busy site or a larger set of campaigns can benefit more from Getsitecontrol’s higher allowances and unlimited widgets.

Getsitecontrol paid features: a complete overview

How popup views are counted

Getsitecontrol counts a view when a widget is displayed. Elfsight counts a view when a widget loads on a page, which does not necessarily mean the visitor sees it. Loading two Popup widgets can consume two views. All your Elfsight Popup widgets share the plan’s monthly allowance across all websites; each website does not receive a separate allowance. For example, 3,000 loads on one site and 2,000 on another use a shared 5,000-view allowance.

This distinction matters when you narrow a campaign’s audience. In Elfsight, hiding a Popup widget on mobile through its device setting does not prevent mobile views from counting. You should therefore budget for the widget’s loads, rather than assuming the number of people who see the offer is your billed usage.

For a concrete comparison, suppose your campaign records 80,000 actual widget displays in Getsitecontrol during a month. Pro covers that for $19. If your Elfsight setup records 80,000 billable widget loads, you need Premium at $24. Those are separate usage measurements, not a prediction that the same website would produce equal counts in both tools.

If either platform reaches a capped allowance, widgets stop displaying until the allowance resets or you upgrade. Getsitecontrol Pro Max removes that concern at a much lower standard price than Elfsight’s unlimited-view tier.

Email sending costs

Getsitecontrol charges for emails sent, rather than the size of your contact list. Base rates per 1,000 sends are $2 on Free, $1.60 on Pro, and $1.40 on Pro Max, with volume discounts available. For example, 10,000 sends at the Pro base rate add $16 to the $19 monthly subscription. You can also keep your existing email provider and use Getsitecontrol for popups.

With Elfsight, budget separately for the email service that will send your newsletters or automated campaigns. A popup autoresponder does not replace that subscription.

Verdict

Getsitecontrol offers a far more usable free allowance and a lower-cost route to unlimited popup displays. Elfsight’s $6 entry plan and unlimited paid websites can suit a small multi-site setup, but compare widget loads, campaign limits, and any separate email bill before choosing it on price.

Customer support and setup assistance

Getsitecontrol includes 24/7 human live-chat support on every plan, including Free. Help extends beyond answering technical questions: the team can create or adapt popup and email designs for your brand, help install widgets, configure targeting and integrations, and assist with migration from another tool.

That means you can bring an offer or a design idea and get help turning it into a working campaign. If you are switching from Elfsight, the team can help recreate your existing popups and set up their display rules, so you do not have to rebuild everything unaided.

Elfsight offers installation assistance, but its ongoing support varies by plan: Free is limited to bug fixes, Basic has basic support, and higher plans add priority support and live chat.

Verdict

Getsitecontrol includes hands-on design, setup, and migration help even on Free. Elfsight also assists with installation, but ongoing support depends on the plan. Getsitecontrol is the stronger choice if you want help creating and configuring campaigns as well as fixing technical problems.

Support that goes beyond troubleshooting

I have been using the tool for over two years now and love it. And the customer support is just awesome (and the best I know)! I always get responses within minutes through the live chat and they go way beyond normal technical support.

Getsitecontrol popup design

A template should save you time without limiting your campaign and vision. In Getsitecontrol, you can start with a ready-made design or a blank layout, then arrange the content around your offer.

Getsitecontrol’s visual editor gives you room to shape the design around your offer, from a compact signup form to a detailed promotional layout. Combine images, text, and fields side by side, build a multi-column product showcase, or layer images over a background for a more distinctive campaign. You can adjust the composition, spacing, colors, and typography without writing code.

You can also change the format. Turn a centered popup into a slide-in, create a full-width announcement bar, or place an inline form inside a page. A collapsible panel keeps a contact form within reach; a small teaser lets visitors open a larger offer when they choose.

Buttons can do more than link elsewhere. They can copy a coupon, open another widget, or move to the next form page. Add a video to explain a product, a countdown for a real deadline, or an animation to draw attention to a particular element.

In Getsitecontrol, mobile styling lets you simplify a design without sacrificing its desktop version. Replace or hide a large image, reduce unnecessary spacing, resize the heading, and make the form fields fit comfortably. A multi-step form can also keep a phone screen from filling with questions at once.

Getsitecontrol’s Free plan gives you access to extensive visual editing, and lets you keep all these campaigns together: an embedded signup, a multi-page survey, a promotional popup, and a persistent contact panel, with no limit on the number of widgets you create. Custom CSS for further design refining is included on Pro and Pro Max.

Elfsight Popup design

Elfsight’s Popup app combines headings, images, video, forms, coupons, timers, and buttons, with control over backgrounds, spacing, and appearance. Modal, pane, slide-in, and bar layouts cover common promotions, while HTML, CSS, and JavaScript options support custom additions.

Separate mobile styling and device-specific elements let you adapt content for smaller screens. However, the number of campaigns you can keep depends on your plan: Free includes one Popup widget, Basic three, and Pro nine. Getsitecontrol lets you create unlimited widgets even on Free, giving you more room for different offers and designs.

Gamified popups and reward reveals

Getsitecontrol’s Free plan includes tap-to-reveal, scratch-card, and spin-the-wheel games. A visitor can uncover a welcome discount or spin for a prize inside your branded popup. Weighted prizes let you make a larger reward less frequent, while dynamic text and conditional content can show the matching result. Pro adds branching to different pages based on the result.

Elfsight offers spin-to-win campaigns through its separate Spinning Wheel app, with adjustable prize probabilities and email collection before the spin. That app has its own subscription and usage allowance; a single-app Popup subscription does not cover it. Getsitecontrol keeps all three game types in the same popup builder.

Verdict

Getsitecontrol is the better choice for flexible, interactive popup design: Free includes layered layouts, mobile customization, three game types, and unlimited widgets. Elfsight supports customizable popups, but its limit on active widgets and lack of built-in gamified formats give you less room to expand your campaigns.

Well-made popups that achieve a 45% CTR

I have been using Getsitecontrol for the past 5 years. What I like is the pre-made design templates that save me time. With a well made pop-up I achieve a CTR of over 45%, which for a marketing channel is more than an excellent result.

Multi-step forms and conditional logic

Multi-step forms

Getsitecontrol lets you collect more than an email address. Text and phone fields capture enquiries and contact details; dropdowns, radio buttons, and checkboxes let visitors choose preferences; ratings help you gather feedback. Consent checkboxes record signup permission, while hidden fields retain background information such as campaign parameters without adding questions to the form. Use these fields to learn what subscribers want and make your follow-up more relevant.

On Free, you can split a form into several pages. For example, ask whether someone wants offers for their home or business, collect their email on the next page, and finish with a confirmation. Everyone can follow the same sequence, with one manageable task on each screen.

Elfsight Popup offers single-page forms. A multi-step form requires Elfsight’s separate Form Builder app, embedded inside the popup. That means managing two widgets and their plan allowances. Getsitecontrol includes form pages directly in the popup builder, even on Free.

Dynamic fields and answer-based page branching

Getsitecontrol’s conditional Display rules, included on Free, let a form change as a visitor answers. Select “Other,” and an explanation field appears immediately. Choose a product category, and the form can reveal a relevant message, image, or button. Visitors see the questions and content that fit their answers without working through unrelated fields.

For forms that need different routes, Getsitecontrol Pro adds answer-based page branching at $19 per month. A service business can ask whether someone needs an installation or a repair, then automatically send them to the relevant next page. Each route can have its own questions, explanation, and final message.

The same approach makes website popup surveys more relevant. A low rating can lead to questions about the problem; a high rating can lead to a shorter follow-up. Conditional visibility changes what appears on a page, while branching changes which page comes next.

Elfsight Popup supports conditional field visibility, so an answer can reveal an additional question. It does not provide the same native multi-page routing within Popup.

Double opt-in and spam protection

Getsitecontrol includes customizable double opt-in emails on Free. Subscribers receive a confirmation email and verify their address before joining the confirmed list. You can adjust the message and sender details without connecting a separate email service.

Getsitecontrol Pro adds invisible reCAPTCHA v3, which checks activity in the background to reduce automated submissions without making legitimate visitors solve puzzles.

Elfsight Popup also includes reCAPTCHA. Its automatic reply can acknowledge a submission, but it does not provide native double opt-in to confirm ownership of the email address. You need a connected email service for that confirmation step. Getsitecontrol includes it on Free, alongside the contact tools you will use afterward.

Protecting email opt-in forms from spam and bots

Verdict

Both tools can reveal fields in response to answers, but Getsitecontrol includes native multi-page forms and customizable double opt-in on Free. Pro adds answer-based routes and invisible bot protection. Elfsight Popup supports conditional fields and reCAPTCHA, but needs its separate Form Builder for multi-step forms and an external email service for double opt-in.

Personalization makes a popup’s message relevant to the person reading it, using details such as their name, location, campaign source, or the product they are viewing.

Getsitecontrol includes Dynamic Text Replacement on Free. You can reuse a name collected on an earlier form page, insert available visitor or campaign information, or adapt text using data supplied by your website. The same approach can personalize button labels, fields, and links, with fallback text for visitors whose information is unavailable.

For example, a signup confirmation can address a visitor by the name they just entered. On Shopify, store data can make a message refer to the product being viewed or the amount still needed to reach a shipping threshold. This is useful when the message should describe the visitor’s actual situation, rather than display the same generic sentence to everyone.

Elfsight can adapt form fields through conditional logic and show different elements by device. Those controls are useful, but they are different from Getsitecontrol’s built-in system for inserting visitor, campaign, form, and Shopify values throughout a widget. More specialized Elfsight behavior may require custom code.

Dynamic Text Replacement in Getsitecontrol

Verdict

Getsitecontrol includes dynamic text across messages, fields, buttons, and links on Free, so one campaign can reflect the visitor’s details or shopping context. Elfsight’s device-specific content and conditional fields do not provide the same built-in personalization across the popup; more tailored behavior may require custom code.

Page targeting, triggers, and frequency

Both tools let you choose pages, control display frequency, and time a popup around visitor behavior. Getsitecontrol Free includes page targeting and basic display and stop controls. Pro adds time on page or website, scroll depth, inactivity, exit intent, and scheduling. For example, show a signup after someone has spent time reading your blog, or offer assistance after a visitor pauses on a pricing page.

You can also let visitors open a popup themselves through a teaser, rather than interrupting them automatically. Frequency and stop rules help prevent the same offer from appearing repeatedly after someone has already interacted with it.

Elfsight offers page-load, delay, scroll, click, and desktop exit-intent triggers, plus schedules and device controls. These are useful for a timed announcement or a signup shown partway through an article.

Audience targeting

Timing is only one part of relevance. Getsitecontrol Pro can combine location, language, device, referral source, campaign parameters, and browsing history to choose who qualifies to see a popup campaign.

An online course provider could offer a beginner’s guide to first-time visitors arriving from a particular campaign, while reserving a consultation offer for returning visitors who have explored several pages. A regional business could restrict a promotion to the country or city it serves. Conditions can be combined, so you do not have to treat everyone on the same page as the same audience.

For more specialized needs, the API feature can pass information from your website, such as a membership status, and use it in targeting. The benefit is a campaign based on information your business already has, without expecting the popup builder to guess it.

Elfsight Popup’s native display controls focus on pages, devices, frequency, schedules, and triggers. They do not offer the same built-in audience-condition system for combining geographic, campaign, visit-history, and store data. Custom scripts may extend a setup, but that is additional work rather than an equivalent visual targeting workflow.

Exit intent on desktop and mobile

Getsitecontrol Pro supports exit-intent behavior on both desktop and mobile. On desktop, it responds to cursor movement toward the browser’s upper edge; on mobile, rapid upward scrolling acts as a sign that the visitor may be leaving.

Elfsight’s exit-intent trigger works on desktop only. You can still show a mobile popup after a delay, on scroll, or on click, but those are different triggers. If phones account for a large share of your traffic, that distinction matters when planning an exit-intent popup.

Getsitecontrol widget targeting: a complete guide

Verdict

Getsitecontrol Free covers page selection and repeat-display controls; Pro adds combined audience conditions, store-aware targeting, and exit intent on both desktop and mobile. Elfsight offers useful page, device, schedule, and timing controls, but lacks the same native audience rules and mobile exit intent. Getsitecontrol is stronger when the offer must match who is visiting, not only when the popup appears.

Shopify popups and cart actions

Getsitecontrol’s Shopify app provides native store conditions on Pro. You can target the product or variant being viewed, items and value in the cart, or customer information such as login status, tags, order count, and total spend. Cart events can trigger a popup when someone adds or removes a product. That lets you build offers with a specific reason to appear. Recommend a matching accessory when a shopper has the main product in their cart. Reserve a first-order offer for eligible new customers. Show a shipping incentive only when the cart meets the conditions you set.

Popup buttons can then add a product to the Shopify cart or apply a discount code directly. The shopper does not have to leave the offer, find the product again, or remember a code. Your Shopify discount popup can take them closer to completing the purchase.

Elfsight Popup can be installed on a Shopify storefront and display coupons, signup forms, and promotions. Its click trigger can respond to an element such as an Add to cart button. However, a click on a page element is not the same as a native cart event with cart-content and customer conditions. Elfsight Popup does not provide an equivalent native set of Shopify targeting and cart actions.

Verdict

Getsitecontrol connects popup offers directly to Shopify products, cart contents, and customer data on Pro, with add-to-cart and discount buttons available even on Free. Elfsight can show promotions and respond to page clicks, but lacks the same native store conditions and cart actions. Getsitecontrol requires less custom setup for offers that respond to a shopper’s actual cart.

Native popup A/B testing

Getsitecontrol Pro lets you test popup versions against each other. Try a different headline, image, incentive, or form length while keeping the audience conditions consistent. Eligible visitors are divided between variants, and you can compare views, actions, and click-through rates before choosing which version to keep.

For example, test a discount against a useful buying guide as your signup incentive. The answer may differ by audience; testing helps you choose based on your visitors’ behavior rather than assuming a discount will always win. Let the test collect enough comparable traffic, then stop it and retain the version that better serves your goal.

Elfsight does not provide a built-in A/B testing feature.

A/B testing widgets in Getsitecontrol

Getsitecontrol Free includes views, actions, and click-through rates in its reports, with results for individual actions rather than only one combined total. You can inspect trends, compare pages, and break down performance by factors such as device, browser, country, and traffic source. CSV exports support further analysis, and Google Analytics integration lets you connect widget events with broader website reporting.

Suppose a signup performs well on desktop but poorly on phones. The device breakdown tells you where to investigate; action-level results help distinguish people clicking a first-step button from those completing the form. You can then simplify the mobile design or test a shorter sequence.

Elfsight supports Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager event tracking, including popup opens and button clicks. It does not provide an internal analytics dashboard. Its view-usage statistics primarily help you monitor the plan allowance.

Verdict

Getsitecontrol makes it easier to move from launching a popup to improving it. Detailed reports are available on Free, and Pro adds A/B tests in the same platform. With Elfsight, interaction analysis relies on external analytics, while native split testing is missing.

Contact management and segmentation

A signup is more useful when its preferences and history stay with the contact. Getsitecontrol includes a database for organizing and using that information; Elfsight Popup collects responses and passes them to other tools.

Getsitecontrol contact management

Contact profiles, fields, and tags

Getsitecontrol stores contacts with their details, custom fields, tags, and subscription status. A form answer can become a saved preference, and a signup source can become a tag. For example, a homeware store can remember who asked about lighting and who chose furniture, then send each group a suitable offer.

You can import an existing audience from CSV, Mailchimp, Klaviyo, or Shopify. Fields and tags keep that information useful when you combine imported contacts with new popup signups.

Dynamic audience segments

Save audiences based on preferences, location, tags, and email activity. Segment membership updates as those details change, so a group of recently engaged subscribers stays current without maintaining another spreadsheet. Use that audience for a broadcast or an automated sequence.

Contact history and address quality

Each contact’s timeline brings together form submissions, email interactions, tag changes, and automation activity. Before following up on an enquiry, you can see what the person requested and which messages they interacted with.

The core contact tools are available on Free, with no contact-count fee. Pro adds contact Quality scores that help identify disposable or potentially risky addresses and exclude them from selected campaigns.

Getsitecontrol also integrates with email providers and automation tools. You can keep a platform your team already uses, or manage the list and email campaigns inside Getsitecontrol. Switching your popup builder does not require switching every other marketing tool at once.

Elfsight Popup contact collection

Elfsight stores form responses, supports CSV exports and notification emails, and can send submissions to services including Mailchimp and Google Sheets. Zapier, Make, and webhooks extend those connections. This works for transferring leads, but the external service must handle the ongoing contact profiles, segments, and campaigns described above.

Verdict

Getsitecontrol turns form responses into a usable audience database on Free, with saved preferences, dynamic segments, and contact histories. Elfsight can store and export submissions, but ongoing segmentation and subscriber marketing require another service. Getsitecontrol is the stronger option when you want to act on the information your forms collect.

Built-in email marketing

Getsitecontrol includes a complete email marketing workflow: design messages, send newsletters and promotions, automate follow-ups, and measure results. Elfsight Popup covers an automatic form reply and connections to external email tools; it does not provide the broadcast and automation features compared below.

Email design in Getsitecontrol

The email editor provides ready-made templates and visual customization, so your messages can use the same colors, imagery, and tone as your popups. Build a focused product launch, a newsletter with several stories, or a seasonal promotion, then save the design for your next campaign.

Arrange text, images, and buttons around the main offer. A slideshow can present several products without a long stack of pictures; an animated banner draws attention to the message; a countdown makes a genuine sale deadline visible. You can personalize the subject line, preview text, and message with available contact information.

Desktop, mobile, light, and dark previews help you check readability. Send a test email and use the link checker before launching. Templates and visual editing are included on Free; paid plans also let you import existing HTML or ZIP email designs.

Getsitecontrol broadcasts and email A/B testing

Broadcasts let you send newsletters, product announcements, and promotions to your whole list or a selected audience. Combine segments and conditions to include the right subscribers and exclude people for whom the offer no longer applies. A course launch, for example, can reach subscribers interested in that topic without being sent to everyone.

On Free, you can send immediately or schedule a campaign, then review deliveries, opens, clicks, bounces, and unsubscribes. Link-level results show which offers attracted attention. You can resend to people who missed the first message, with an adjusted subject or offer rather than repeating the campaign to the whole list.

Pro adds delivery options for different audiences. Send at the same local hour across time zones, spread delivery over a chosen window, or use past engagement to choose when each recipient is most likely to respond.

Pro also lets you test email variants before sending to the full audience. Compare subject lines, sender details, messages, layouts, or calls to action on a selected portion of the list. After your chosen evaluation period, Getsitecontrol sends the winning version to the remaining recipients. You can inspect each variant’s results or select a winner manually.

Getsitecontrol automated email sequences

A useful welcome sequence gives each email a job. Deliver the promised resource immediately, wait before introducing relevant products or advice, and send another message only when it adds something worthwhile.

Getsitecontrol automations support delays, conditions, tags, and reusable workflows. They can begin with a form submission, an email-link click, entry into a segment, or an event sent from another system. You can use a saved preference to choose which email someone receives, as in this personalized welcome sequence.

A sequence can continue according to a subscriber’s interests and actions. Someone who clicks a beginner’s guide can receive related advice, while a different interest leads to a different follow-up. Reusable workflows let several signup forms share the same sequence, so an improvement does not require editing separate copies. Core automation building and reporting are available on Free, with sending billed separately.

Getsitecontrol email marketing for Shopify

Getsitecontrol uses Shopify data to make emails relevant to the shopper and their purchase. A new subscriber can receive an introductory offer; an unfinished checkout can trigger a recovery message; a new or fulfilled order can start a product-care sequence. A winback campaign can invite a customer to return after a chosen period without a purchase.

Recovery emails can show the products left behind and link back to the saved checkout. Post-purchase messages can refer to the items ordered or fulfilled, with filters for products, variants, order value, and item count. For example, send care advice for the product someone bought instead of the same generic follow-up to every buyer.

Dynamic product feeds fill email cards with new arrivals, bestsellers, sale items, a selected collection, or recommendations based on purchase history. You can promote a changing range without manually rebuilding every product block. These store-connected email tools are available on Free, with sends billed separately.

Pro adds unique, single-use Shopify coupon codes for individual recipients in broadcasts and automations. A welcome or winback offer can give each person their own code, reducing reuse of the same discount.

Getsitecontrol email deliverability and list quality

Getsitecontrol combines signup safeguards with sending tools. Double opt-in helps confirm subscriptions; paid contact Quality scores let you filter potentially risky addresses. Anti-Bounce can validate unverified contacts when bounce levels become critical, helping reduce further failed sends. You can also authenticate your own sending domain and use engagement conditions to avoid repeatedly mailing inactive subscribers.

Broadcast and automation reports help you spot failed deliveries and disengagement, while contact histories show an individual subscriber’s experience. These tools give you ways to improve list quality, authentication, and sending practices; inbox placement still depends on how mailbox providers evaluate your messages.

Elfsight Popup email capabilities

Elfsight Popup’s autoresponder can acknowledge a submission or deliver an initial message. For more complex email marketing campaigns, such as a newsletter, an automated sequence, and email reporting, you’ll need to connect Elfsight to an external email service. Consider the cost of the external email service when choosing a popup builder.

Verdict

Getsitecontrol is the stronger choice for turning popup signups into ongoing email campaigns. Free includes email design, broadcasts, automated sequences, segmentation, and Shopify product feeds, with sends billed separately. Pro adds email A/B testing and unique Shopify coupons. Elfsight Popup handles form replies but requires another service for ongoing campaigns.

Getsitecontrol’s team can help you move from Elfsight Popup at no extra charge, even on Free. Share your existing popups, and the team can recreate their designs, adjust them for mobile, and help set up targeting and integrations. You can keep a familiar offer or use the move to improve it.

You can also import your contacts into Getsitecontrol and set up email campaigns, or connect your forms to your current email provider. Once your replacement popups are ready, you can switch off Elfsight Popup while keeping your other Elfsight widgets. Personal design and setup help remain available for future Getsitecontrol campaigns, too.

Elfsight or Getsitecontrol?

The deciding factor is how much you expect your popups to do after the first launch. Getsitecontrol is the stronger Elfsight Popup alternative for businesses that want to grow and improve their campaigns. You get a generous free allowance, native multi-step forms, and contact and email tools from the start. Pro adds precise targeting and testing; Pro Max gives you unlimited widget displays for $29 per month.

Elfsight can remain a reasonable choice for a few straightforward popups across low-traffic websites, especially when you already have an email platform and value its lower entry price. But once you need audience-based offers, controlled experiments, or campaigns that continue after signup, Getsitecontrol provides more of the work in one place.

Common questions

Is Getsitecontrol a good Elfsight Popup alternative?

Yes. Getsitecontrol is a strong Elfsight Popup alternative if you need native multi-step forms, detailed popup reporting, contact management, and email campaigns. Its Free plan includes 10,000 monthly widget displays and unlimited widgets. Pro costs $19 per month and adds advanced targeting, answer-based page branching, and A/B testing. You can replace Elfsight Popup while keeping other Elfsight widgets on your site.

What is the best free alternative to Elfsight Popup?

Getsitecontrol is the better free alternative for businesses that want room to grow their popup campaigns. Its Free plan includes unlimited widgets, 10,000 monthly widget displays, multi-step forms, mobile customization, and detailed reports. Elfsight Popup’s Free plan allows one widget and 200 monthly widget loads. Getsitecontrol lets you run signup forms, promotional offers, and surveys without paying for additional widgets.

Is Getsitecontrol cheaper than Elfsight Popup?

Getsitecontrol offers 10,000 monthly widget displays and unlimited widgets for free, compared with Elfsight Popup’s 200 monthly widget loads and one widget. Elfsight’s entry paid plan costs less: $6 per month for 5,000 loads and three widgets. Getsitecontrol Pro costs $19 per month for 100,000 displays; Pro Max costs $29 for unlimited displays, compared with $112 for Elfsight’s unlimited-view Single App plan. These are monthly billing prices; widget loads and actual displays are different counting units.

Can I create multi-step popups with Elfsight?

Elfsight Popup does not include native multi-step forms. You can embed a form from Elfsight’s separate Form Builder app, but that means managing two widgets and their plan allowances. Getsitecontrol includes multi-step forms on Free, so you can split a signup or survey across pages within one popup. Pro adds answer-based branching to guide visitors to different pages based on their responses.

Can Getsitecontrol replace Elfsight Popup on WordPress or Squarespace?

Yes. Getsitecontrol works on WordPress through its plugin and on Squarespace through a supported code-insertion method. You can recreate signup forms, promotional popups, and other campaigns, then edit them from Getsitecontrol. It also supports inline forms, with the embed placed where you want the form to appear.

Which tool is better for Shopify popups?

Getsitecontrol's native Shopify app is the stronger choice for campaigns that depend on Shopify products, carts, and customers. Pro includes native store targeting and cart-action triggers, and popup buttons can add products or apply discounts. Elfsight can display popups on Shopify, but its standard page and click controls do not provide the same native store-aware campaign workflow.

Which tool is better for popups and email marketing?

Getsitecontrol is the better choice if you want to capture leads and run email campaigns in one platform. Free includes a visual email editor, newsletters, promotional broadcasts, automated sequences, and audience segments; email sends are billed separately. Pro adds email A/B testing and advanced sending options. Elfsight Popup offers an automatic form reply, but ongoing email campaigns require a separate email service.

Can I replace Elfsight Popup without replacing my other Elfsight widgets?

Yes. You can use Getsitecontrol for popups and forms while keeping Elfsight reviews, social feeds, calendars, or other widgets on your website. Recreate your popup campaigns in Getsitecontrol, test them, and then disable the old Popup widgets. Leave the installation code needed by your other Elfsight widgets in place.

Do I have to change my email provider when switching to Getsitecontrol?

No. Getsitecontrol can send form submissions to supported email providers and automation services. You can keep your existing email setup while replacing Elfsight Popup, or import your contacts and use Getsitecontrol’s built-in broadcasts and automations. Test field mapping and signup delivery before replacing your live forms.
