POWR Popup vs Getsitecontrol: Which Gives Your Campaigns More Room to Grow?

Giorgia Mangoni Giorgia Mangoni

A popup builder should make it easy to launch an offer, collect responses, and improve the campaign as your audience grows. The first subscription price tells you only part of that story. Signup allowances, design controls, and the tools available after someone subscribes can make a bigger difference over time.

Getsitecontrol combines popups, adaptable forms, contact management, and email marketing. You can create a welcome offer, use the answers to organize your audience, and send relevant follow-ups from the same platform. Its free plan includes unlimited widgets and contacts, with 10,000 monthly widget displays. A native Shopify app connects your popups and emails to store data, so campaigns can respond to what shoppers browse, add to their cart, and buy.

POWR Popup covers email capture, discount offers, announcements, and automatic replies, with a lower starting price for paid plans. Its entry plans keep a small submission allowance, however, and several useful display controls require an upgrade.

This POWR vs Getsitecontrol comparison looks at what that means for your campaigns, from your first signup form to targeted offers and ongoing email marketing. Pricing and features were checked in October 2026. POWR's standalone and Shopify offers differ; those differences are identified below. See Getsitecontrol's pricing for current allowances.

Short answer

Getsitecontrol is the stronger POWR Popup alternative if you want to grow your list without a separate signup cap, build more adaptable forms, and manage the emails that follow. Free includes visual design, multipage forms, contact segments, and email campaign tools. Pro adds advanced targeting, branching, and popup and email A/B testing for $19/month.

POWR's paid plans start lower, but Starter still allows only 25 monthly submissions. Pro raises that to 1,000; unlimited submissions come with the $98.99/month Business plan. Getsitecontrol Pro Max provides unlimited widget displays and signups for $29/month, with email sends charged separately.

Paid POWR prices above are for its standalone Popup plans. Shopify pricing and feature access differ, as explained below.

POWR Popup pricing vs Getsitecontrol

Getsitecontrol counts widget displays. POWR Popup's app-specific plans limit form submissions. The difference matters: two campaigns with the same number of displays can collect very different numbers of subscribers, and a successful form can reach a submission cap quickly.

Getsitecontrol Free

Getsitecontrol Free includes 10,000 monthly widget displays, unlimited widgets, and unlimited stored contacts. There is no separate signup cap. If your popup converts twice as well next month while staying within the same display allowance, you can collect twice as many subscribers without upgrading.

A display counts when a widget actually appears. A visitor who sees three widgets uses three displays; a visit where no widget appears uses none. If you reach Free's display allowance, widgets pause until the next cycle unless you upgrade.

The free plan includes all templates, the visual and AI editors, independent mobile styling, multipage forms, conditional content, dynamic text, games, and detailed reporting. Contact segments, integrations, broadcasts, and core email automations are included too, with email sending charged separately after initial credits. You can build a campaign, learn about its audience, and follow up before choosing a paid subscription.

Free widgets and emails carry Getsitecontrol branding. That is one of the reasons to upgrade, alongside advanced targeting and a higher display allowance.

Pro includes 100,000 monthly displays and removes branding. It adds advanced audience and Shopify targeting, behavioral triggers, scheduling, answer-based page branching, custom CSS, invisible reCAPTCHA, and A/B testing for popups and emails. Pro Max has the same advanced features with unlimited displays. You choose between them based on how often your campaigns appear, rather than the number of people who respond.

Getsitecontrol planMonthly billingAnnual billingMonthly displays
Free$0$010,000
Pro$19$168/year, equivalent to $14/month100,000
Pro Max$29$252/year, equivalent to $21/monthUnlimited

All three plans allow unlimited signups within their display allowance. Annual subscriptions are paid upfront. Standard plans cover one website. Multi-site quantity discounts and custom plans are available on request, so businesses managing several sites can arrange pricing for their setup.

Getsitecontrol also keeps existing customers on their original subscription prices. If the price rises for new customers, existing subscribers retain their old rate while receiving the improvements added to their plan. You can plan a longer-term campaign without expecting a higher renewal price simply because the product has developed. Paid subscriptions can also be suspended and resumed for seasonal campaigns.

Email sending is separate from popup usage. Standard rates per 1,000 emails are $2 on Free, $1.60 on Pro, and $1.40 on Pro Max, with volume discounts. Keeping more contacts does not itself increase your bill; sending more emails uses more credits.

What Getsitecontrol Pro adds to your campaigns

POWR Popup Free

POWR Popup Free allows 25 submissions per month. The standalone plan allows five content blocks per popup, such as text, images, or form fields. It includes email collection, a response dashboard, and copyable coupon codes, with POWR branding. Its Shopify listing also includes an autoresponder and Shopify customer sync on Free.

The free plan can work for an announcement, a coupon offer, or a signup form collecting up to 25 responses per month. If your campaign needs more submissions or additional design elements, the paid plans provide higher allowances and more controls.

POWR Popup paid plans

Starter removes branding and the limit of five content blocks per popup, but keeps the same 25-submission allowance. Standalone Pro raises that to 1,000 submissions and adds custom CSS, advanced display controls, a welcome email, and integrations. Business provides unlimited submissions.

POWR standalone planMonthly billingAnnual billing, per monthMonthly submissions
Free$0$025
Starter$7.04$4.8325
Pro$15.84$11.871,000
Business$98.99$79.19Unlimited

Annual rates are monthly equivalents, paid upfront. The Shopify listing prices Pro at $15.29/month or $137.18/year. Starter is $7.04/month or $57.98/year, and Business is $98.99/month or $950.30/year. Their listed submission allowances are 25, 1,000, and unlimited respectively.

POWR also documents a usage-based billing model. The prices and examples here refer to the published Popup-specific plans; check which subscription applies to your account.

Costs at different campaign sizes

Suppose your popup receives 8,000 displays and collects 200 responses in a month. That fits Getsitecontrol Free. Under POWR's published Popup plans, the same submission volume calls for Pro, at $15.84/month standalone or $15.29/month on Shopify.

At 40,000 displays and 1,200 submissions, Getsitecontrol Pro covers the popup usage for $19/month. In POWR's listed Popup tiers, that submission volume calls for Business at $98.99/month. These are illustrative campaign volumes, with email sending excluded; the features you need can also determine which plan fits.

The billing model matters when conversion improves, too. If the first campaign grows from 200 to 400 signups while staying at 8,000 displays, it still fits Getsitecontrol Free. There is no separate submission threshold to cross.

That gives you room to aim for more subscribers as you refine the offer. You should be able to welcome better results without hoping signups stay low enough to preserve a free plan. Getsitecontrol's display allowances let you plan for traffic while working to convert more of it.

Verdict

POWR Popup has a lower paid starting price, but Free and Starter both cap submissions at 25 per month. Getsitecontrol has no separate signup cap, and Pro Max offers unlimited displays for $29/month. Original-price retention, multi-site discounts, and custom plans also help you budget beyond your first campaign.

Both builders let you create a branded popup without code. The useful comparison is how much control you have over its format, layout, individual elements, and mobile appearance as the design becomes more detailed.

Getsitecontrol's template gallery covers announcements, coupons, email and phone signups, feedback, contact forms, and age verification. Start with a ready-made design or a blank canvas. Brand-adapted previews help you picture a template with your website's wording and visual identity before editing it.

Choose a modal, slide-in, sidebar, bar, collapsible panel, fullscreen message, or inline form. You can change an existing design's format without rebuilding it. A seasonal promotion can begin as a centered popup and later become a quieter bar, while a newsletter form can sit inside an article.

A teaser can keep a compact invitation visible before or after the main popup. It has its own label, icon, position, and animation. Someone who closes a discount offer can reopen it when they are ready to shop.

POWR Popup also offers templates and a blank starting point. Its gallery includes signup offers, announcements, and seasonal promotions. Placement options include centered, corner, fullscreen, and slide-in popups, giving you several ways to present an offer without designing it from scratch. Its floating tab or button also lets visitors reopen a closed offer.

Getsitecontrol's horizontal and vertical groups let you arrange content in columns or stack it, then combine those groups into a larger composition. Put an image beside a form, build a row of product cards, or give the offer and its terms separate areas. Each group has its own alignment, spacing, background, and styling.

Typography controls include line height and letter spacing, alongside colors, borders, corner radii, shadows, and button hover states. Images can sit within the content, frame it as a hero image, or overlap the edges as a floating badge. Cropping and masks help fit the artwork to the design. These popup design examples show how different compositions can support different offers.

The free AI widget builder can create and revise the open draft, including its pages, copy, images, layout, teaser, and targeting. Ask it to adapt a welcome offer to your brand, then refine the same elements yourself. The text assistant can rewrite, shorten, translate, or suggest alternative copy. Pro adds custom CSS and support for your own font, and removes Getsitecontrol branding.

POWR Popup provides controls for fonts, colors, size, backgrounds, borders, the close button, and the page overlay. Images can appear to the side or in the background, and shared form styling keeps the fields consistent. You can reorder content elements and use spacers to adjust the composition. Starter removes branding and the standalone Free plan's limit of five content blocks per popup; Pro adds custom CSS.

Getsitecontrol includes video embeds from YouTube, Vimeo, or TikTok, icons, and scrolling or sliding text for announcements. Animate the whole popup or individual elements, with controls over when the animation plays. Fixed-date countdowns suit a sale or launch; evergreen timers start separately for each visitor and can show a message or close the widget when time runs out.

Buttons can copy a coupon, open a link, move between form pages, or launch another widget. On Shopify, they can add products to the cart or apply a discount. Reveal cards, scratch cards, and prize wheels are available too, so an interactive reward can use the same styling as the rest of the offer. These elements are included on Free.

POWR Popup's own content menu includes text, images, video, buttons, coupons, spacers, and a paid file-download element. You can combine a product video with a call to action, show a copyable coupon, or offer a downloadable resource. Paid design options include entrance animations and a round popup style. Both builders therefore support more than a static text-and-email box; Getsitecontrol adds detailed layout control and native countdowns and games within its free editor.

Getsitecontrol lets you change the mobile layout, image, element visibility, typography, and spacing independently of desktop. A wide product promotion can become a compact vertical offer, with a smaller image and a button that is easy to tap. Interactive previews let you check the design and click through the campaign before publishing.

POWR Popup is responsive and provides desktop, tablet, and phone previews. Both builders let you check the campaign at different screen sizes. Getsitecontrol's independent mobile styling gives you more scope to simplify individual parts of a detailed desktop composition for a smaller screen.

Verdict

Both tools provide templates, visual styling, video, coupons, mobile previews, and a way to reopen an offer. Getsitecontrol gives you more freedom to develop the design through nested layouts, separate mobile styling, several image types, AI assistance, and native interactive elements, all available on Free.

Popup forms and personalization

Both popup builders can collect contact details and visitor feedback. Their field choices, submission flows, and personalization tools determine how far you can develop a basic signup into a survey or a form that qualifies potential customers.

Contact details and feedback fields

Getsitecontrol's Free plan includes email fields and phone fields with a country picker. Phone numbers are checked against the selected country's format, helping you collect usable international contact details. Short text inputs suit names and job titles; longer text areas give visitors space to explain an enquiry.

Dropdowns and radio buttons record a single choice, while checkboxes let people select several interests. A consent checkbox can record agreement to receive marketing or accept your terms. Hidden fields capture background information, such as a campaign's UTM parameters or an internal ID, without making visitors answer another question.

For feedback, choose stars, numeric ratings, hearts, emojis, or thumbs up/down. A dedicated Net Promoter Score field displays a 0–10 scale with customizable labels, so you can ask how likely customers are to recommend your business. Add a follow-up question to learn what influenced their score. The same builder can handle feedback surveys, lead qualification, and contact requests as well as signups.

POWR Popup also has a broader field selection than an email box. Its editor includes name, email, phone, text box, dropdown, multiple-choice, checkbox, rating, and date/time fields. You can collect a product preference, ask for feedback, or request a relevant date alongside someone's contact details.

The phone settings let you select a country, accept international numbers, add an extension, and make the field required. Optional opt-in checkboxes can accompany contact fields. Both tools can therefore collect phone details and structured answers; Getsitecontrol also gives you a dedicated NPS scale, hidden fields, and several rating styles within its free editor.

Form steps and submission actions

Getsitecontrol includes multipage forms on Free. Start with a simple choice, continue to contact details, and finish with a tailored success page. You can spread a longer enquiry across several screens, with a back button for visitors who want to change an answer.

Free also includes conditional display rules for fields and other content. Selecting “Wholesale” can reveal a company field and a relevant message; selecting “Other” can reveal a text box. A low satisfaction score can prompt a question about what went wrong. Visitors see the questions that apply to them, keeping the form shorter and the responses more useful.

Pro adds skip logic and branching between pages. A business enquiry can lead to budget and project questions, while an existing customer goes to a support enquiry page. Conditions can use earlier answers and combine responses to decide the next step. You can qualify leads or build a recommendation quiz without making everyone follow the same sequence.

POWR Popup separates the main form from its success screen. After a submission, you can show a customized thank-you message, reveal a coupon, close the popup, or redirect to another page on a paid plan. The success screen has its own content and layout, so the confirmation can include more than a short line of text.

POWR can also notify you when a response arrives and send an autoresponder when your plan includes it. These options are useful for delivering the promised reward and acknowledging an enquiry. Getsitecontrol also offers submission notifications and automatic replies, alongside email marketing tools for personalized sequences, newsletters, and segmented promotions. The same platform can qualify a lead through a conditional form and nurture that relationship after signup.

Personalized content and rewards

Getsitecontrol's Dynamic Text Replacement, included on Free, can use location, campaign parameters, earlier form answers, and supported website data in popup text, field labels and values, button labels, and links. A visitor who chooses a product category can receive a matching thank-you message and shopping link. On Shopify, a shipping offer can show how much more a shopper needs to spend to reach a threshold.

You can combine that personalization with a reveal card, scratch card, or prize wheel. Set the prizes, their probabilities, and whether someone can play once, once per visit, or again after a waiting period. The result can determine which reward appears and which message follows, keeping the game connected to the rest of the signup flow.

POWR Popup lets you configure a coupon and reveal it only after someone signs up. You can also include the offer in an autoresponder or redirect to a discount link. This works well when everyone completing the campaign should receive the same incentive. Getsitecontrol gives you more ways to vary the wording, links, and rewards within the popup using the visitor's answers or game result.

Email verification and spam protection

Getsitecontrol combines consent fields with double opt-in on Free. After a submission, a confirmation email asks the visitor to verify their address; only confirmed respondents join your contact database. Customize the subject, message, sender, and confirmation destination, and use different versions for different campaigns or languages.

Pro adds invisible reCAPTCHA v3 for forms with an email field. It checks behavior in the background and blocks suspicious submissions without asking real visitors to complete a challenge. You can combine it with double opt-in to filter bots before submission and confirm email ownership afterward.

POWR Popup does not offer a built-in double opt-in flow or configurable CAPTCHA protection in its Popup editor. Getsitecontrol lets you verify email ownership before a contact joins your database and, on Pro, add invisible bot checks to the form itself.

Verdict

Both builders support contact details, choices, ratings, consent, and customized submission outcomes. Getsitecontrol is the stronger fit when you want the form to adapt to each visitor, with conditional content, dynamic text, a dedicated NPS field, and multipage forms on Free. Pro adds answer-based branching and invisible reCAPTCHA.

Popup targeting and Shopify campaigns

Getsitecontrol and POWR Popup both let you control when an offer appears and how often visitors see it. Getsitecontrol goes further in adapting the offer to the person behind the visit, with detailed audience conditions and native Shopify product, cart, and customer targeting on Pro.

Show a relevant offer when visitors are ready

Getsitecontrol Free includes page targeting and repeat-display controls. A newsletter invitation can appear on your blog without interrupting a product page; a completed signup form can stop appearing to the person who submitted it. Rules cover individual URLs, URL patterns, and site sections, while frequency and stop conditions respond to views, closures, and actions. Visitors can also open a popup themselves by clicking a link or button.

Getsitecontrol Pro adds time, scroll, inactivity, and exit-intent triggers. An engaged reader can see a subscription offer after scrolling; a visitor about to leave can receive a final incentive. Exit intent works with cursor movement toward the browser controls on desktop and rapid upward scrolling on mobile. Schedules keep limited-time promotions within their dates and hours.

POWR Popup also supports delayed, scroll-triggered, exit-intent, and click-triggered popups, along with frequency controls and scheduling. Its Shopify installation supports page selection. Access varies: standalone Popup lists advanced controls on Pro, while Shopify Starter includes delay and scroll display. Both tools can help you choose a less disruptive moment for a general offer.

Getsitecontrol's advantage becomes clearer when different visitors need different offers. Pro can distinguish a first-time visitor from a returning visitor, match a popup to an ad campaign's UTM parameters, or localize an offer by country, region, or city. Language and device conditions help adapt the presentation. Conditions also cover browsers, screen sizes, referrers, previous pages, page counts, and session counts. Cookies, API parameters, and custom conditions bring in your own site data.

That lets you combine the audience with the moment. Someone arriving from a summer-sale ad can see the matching offer after browsing, while a returning visitor sees a different invitation. POWR Popup's published display options emphasize timing and frequency; Getsitecontrol gives you more detail for deciding which message each audience should receive.

Getsitecontrol vs POWR Popup for Shopify offers

If you're looking for a POWR alternative for Shopify, Getsitecontrol can connect a promotion to what someone is shopping for. Its Shopify app includes native store targeting on Pro, so an accessory offer can appear when the matching product is in the cart, and a first-order discount can be reserved for eligible new customers.

Product and variant conditions cover type, vendor, tags, price, and availability. Cart rules use items, variants, quantity, total value, and discounts, with adding or removing a product as possible triggers. Customer conditions include login status, tags, order count, total spending, and marketing subscription status. Those details help you distinguish a new prospect from a loyal buyer instead of offering everyone the same discount.

Getsitecontrol also lets shoppers act on the offer inside the popup. Add-to-cart and apply-discount buttons are available on Free. A shopper can accept an upsell without finding the product again or apply a coupon without copying it elsewhere. Dynamic text can show the remaining spend needed for free shipping.

POWR Popup does not offer native targeting based on Shopify products, cart contents, or customer purchase history. It also lacks native add-to-cart and apply-discount actions inside the popup. A redirect can send a shopper to a discount URL, but it does not provide the same in-popup shopping action. With Getsitecontrol, both the offer and the next step can respond to the current shopping session.

Verdict

Getsitecontrol offers detailed visitor and Shopify product, cart, and customer targeting on Pro, plus native add-to-cart and apply-discount buttons on Free. POWR Popup has general timing and display controls, but lacks those native Shopify targeting conditions and shopping actions. For offers tied to what someone is buying, Getsitecontrol gives you the tools POWR Popup is missing.

Instant impact on upselling and cross-selling!

I’ve used [the Getsitecontrol Shopify app] for mail capture, upsell, and cross-sell and seen an instant impact.

Popup analytics and A/B testing

A popup that gets attention may still lose visitors before they submit the form. Analytics help you find that gap; A/B testing lets you compare changes to the offer, design, or questions. Here is how Getsitecontrol and POWR Popup help you measure campaign performance and test ways to improve it.

Getsitecontrol popup analytics and A/B testing

Every Getsitecontrol widget reports views, actions, and click-through rate. Actions are broken down by type, including submissions and link clicks, with their own counts and rates. You can distinguish a visitor clicking the first-step offer from someone completing the form or following the shopping link.

Trend charts show views and interactions over time. Filter statistics by widget, date range, country, device, or channel, then inspect page-level performance and audience breakdowns. These include location, traffic sources and mediums, browsers, and screen resolutions. Download the statistics as CSV when you want to combine them with other campaign data.

Suppose a popup attracts clicks on phones but produces few completed signups. Device and action breakdowns give you a reason to inspect the mobile form, shorten it, or move a question to a second page. If the same offer converts better on a particular product page, you can use that finding to refine its placement.

Measure whether a new version performs better

Getsitecontrol Pro supports multiple variants per popup test and up to five tests at once. Traffic is split evenly, and each visitor continues to see their assigned version. Variants use the same targeting, so you can compare a new offer, layout, or form against the original with a consistent audience.

The results show views, actions, CTR, time running, and the performance difference between variants. Action-level results help you judge the outcome you actually want. A design that attracts more first-step clicks is not necessarily the one that produces more completed signups.

For example, test a shorter mobile form against the original after noticing that mobile submissions lag. Let comparable traffic accumulate, review the submission rate, then keep the version that better serves the campaign. You can make that decision in the same dashboard where you built the popup.

POWR Popup analytics and external reporting

POWR Popup's Shopify listing advertises views, clicks, and response tracking. Its response dashboard lets you review submitted information, while standalone Pro includes Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager connections. Those connections are useful if you already review your website campaigns in Google's analytics tools.

POWR Popup does not include native A/B testing. Reporting can help you spot a weak campaign, but comparing variants with consistent visitor assignment would require a separate testing setup. Getsitecontrol puts the reporting and the controlled experiment in the same popup dashboard.

Verdict

POWR Popup covers interaction tracking and offers external analytics connections. Getsitecontrol includes detailed action rates, audience breakdowns, and CSV exports on Free, then adds native A/B testing on Pro. It is the more complete option for measuring a campaign and testing how to improve it.

30% signup rates with Getsitecontrol

Awesome app to get email subs. Was able to get 30% sign up rates on some campaigns which is wild. Great product!

Contact management

Both tools keep the details visitors submit. Getsitecontrol connects those answers to contact profiles, automatic tags, and dynamic audiences for ongoing campaigns. POWR Popup provides response records and contact organization, with integrations for sending the information to other tools.

Getsitecontrol's contact tools

Keep the details behind each signup

Getsitecontrol maps form responses to contact fields, including your own custom fields. Store a subscriber's topic preference, company, or product interest alongside their email, phone, location, and subscription status. Hidden fields can preserve which campaign brought them to the form, so you can personalize the next message without asking the same questions again.

Contact timelines show form submissions, widget actions, email interactions, and automation activity, with store activity for Shopify. When someone asks about an offer, you can see how they joined and which follow-ups they received. These tools are included on Free, without a fee for storing a larger database.

Automatically tag subscribers by interest and behavior

Getsitecontrol can tag everyone who submits a particular form or assign different tags according to their answers. A skincare store can tag subscribers by their main concern; a course provider can group prospects by the subject they want to learn. Dropdowns, radio buttons, checkboxes, and ratings can all determine the tags, without a separate automation for each form answer.

Tags can also change as the relationship develops. An automation can add a tag when someone clicks an email link or meets a condition, and remove a tag when it no longer applies. Import tags help you organize contacts you bring from another platform. Automatic tagging is included on Free, so your audience can stay organized as signups grow.

Build audiences that stay up to date

Dynamic segments combine fields, tags, location, and email engagement. Shopify conditions add order count, total spending, and the date of a customer's last order. Membership updates as people meet or leave the conditions. A subscriber interested in skincare who clicks a product email can qualify for a relevant follow-up, while someone who no longer fits the criteria leaves the segment automatically.

Use those segments for broadcasts or trigger an automation when someone joins one. You can send a promotion to interested subscribers who have not bought yet, then move new customers into a different sequence. This connects the information collected in a popup to an ongoing relationship, without repeated spreadsheet exports and manual list rebuilding.

Assess contact quality before sending

Getsitecontrol Pro automatically assigns a Quality score to each contact. Eight categories distinguish addresses by type, reliability, and expected engagement, including disposable and untrusted addresses. You can see the distribution in your audience and use the categories in filters and segments.

That gives you another way to choose recipients before spending email credits. For example, exclude low-quality addresses from a promotion while concentrating on contacts more likely to engage. The score helps assess the list; it does not guarantee that a particular email will reach the inbox.

POWR Popup contact management

POWR Popup provides a submission dashboard and notification emails. Responses containing an email address also create a record in POWR's My Contacts, with name and phone details when collected. Repeat submissions with the same email update the existing record, helping you keep the latest information together.

You can edit contact details, add notes and tags, filter records, or import contacts from CSV. That gives you a way to organize the people behind the submissions rather than relying only on notification emails.

Getsitecontrol includes integrations with Mailchimp, Klaviyo, Brevo, Google Sheets, Zapier, and webhooks on Free. Field mapping passes the relevant answers to the right destination fields. You can use Getsitecontrol's contact tools alongside your existing email provider or connect form submissions to other workflows without upgrading to unlock integrations.

POWR Popup's standalone Pro plan lists Mailchimp, Google Sheets, and Zapier integrations, while its Shopify listing includes customer sync on Free. These connections let you send new leads to an existing marketing setup. Both tools can work with other services; Getsitecontrol makes those connections available on Free and also includes segments and email campaigns within the platform.

Verdict

POWR Popup lets you review submissions, organize contacts with tags and notes, and connect external tools. Getsitecontrol adds automatic tagging, activity histories, and dynamic segments on Free, plus Quality scores on Pro. Those tools help you turn form answers into relevant campaigns as your audience grows.

Email marketing: Getsitecontrol vs POWR Popup

Getsitecontrol includes email marketing alongside its popup builder, so a signup can lead to a welcome sequence, useful content that nurtures a lead, or an ongoing customer relationship. Shopify stores can also recover abandoned checkouts and follow up after purchases. POWR Popup provides an immediate autoresponder; broader email campaigns require another app or platform.

Getsitecontrol email design and broadcasts

Getsitecontrol includes a visual email editor and templates for newsletters, promotions, welcomes, and recovery messages. Arrange text, images, product cards, and buttons in custom layouts, with control over fonts, colors, spacing, backgrounds, and mobile styling. Personalize text and links with contact data, and use AI assistance to draft, refine, or translate the copy. Slideshows, animated text, and countdowns can help present a product range or a genuine deadline without making the email unnecessarily long.

Check the design on desktop and mobile, in light and dark mode, and send a test before launching. Review links and UTM tags alongside the subject line, preview text, and sender details. Paid plans also let you import an existing HTML email design.

Broadcasts can go to your whole list, a saved segment, or an audience defined by contact and engagement conditions. Schedule a launch and exclude people for whom the offer is no longer relevant. Reports show deliveries, opens, clicks, click-to-open rates, bounces, unsubscribes, and spam reports, with individual-link results and contact-level details.

Resend to non-openers, non-clickers, or eligible subscribers who did not receive the original campaign. You can adjust the subject or offer for that follow-up rather than repeat the same message to everyone.

Pro adds email A/B testing for subject lines, sender details, content, layouts, and calls to action. Choose the test audience share and duration; the winning version can then go to the remaining recipients automatically, or you can choose it yourself. Pro also adds sending by recipient time zone, timing based on past engagement, and gradual sending for campaigns that need a slower increase in volume.

Automated follow-ups

Getsitecontrol automations can start from a form submission, segment entry, an email-link click, a webhook, or supported Shopify events. Add delays, emails, tagging actions, and conditions based on form answers, contact data, or engagement. A personalized welcome sequence can deliver the promised resource, introduce relevant products, and adjust later messages to the subscriber's interests.

A sequence can deliver an incentive immediately, wait before explaining the product, and send a further offer only to people whose answers or engagement make it relevant. Filters can apply to the whole automation or individual actions, so the follow-up adapts as you learn more about the subscriber.

Reusable workflows let several forms share a sequence. When you improve the welcome messages, you do not need to rebuild a separate copy for every signup campaign. You can review automation activity and each email's performance to see where contacts went and what they clicked. Core automation tools are available on Free; email credits cover the sends.

On Shopify, abandoned checkouts, new orders, and fulfilled orders can trigger relevant follow-ups. Recovery emails can show the items left behind, while post-purchase messages can refer to the products ordered. Dynamic product feeds can feature bestsellers, new arrivals, discounted items, or recommendations based on purchase history. Pro adds unique, single-use coupon codes for individual recipients.

Deliverability and list care

Getsitecontrol supports your own authenticated sending domain, double opt-in, and engagement-based audience selection. Anti-Bounce can validate unverified addresses when bounce levels become critical; paid contact Quality scores provide another way to filter potentially risky contacts. Campaign reports help you see delivery problems and disengagement before sending the same message again.

Domain authentication is also part of Google's email sender guidelines. Getsitecontrol's delivery and list-management controls support better sending practices, while inbox placement still depends on your audience, content, and mailbox providers.

POWR Popup's automatic reply

POWR Popup can send an autoresponder after submission, for example to deliver a coupon or acknowledge a request. Its standalone pricing places the welcome email on Pro, while the Shopify Popup listing includes an autoresponder on Free.

That autoresponder covers the initial reply. Sending newsletters, nurturing leads over several emails, recovering abandoned checkouts, or running segmented promotions requires an additional email app or platform with its own pricing.

Verdict

POWR Popup can deliver the first automatic reply, but does not go beyond that. Broader email marketing requires another tool with its own pricing. Getsitecontrol combines that reply with personalized sequences, segmented broadcasts, and Shopify recovery emails. Core email tools are included on Free, with sending billed separately; Pro adds popup and email A/B testing.

Switching to a POWR alternative

If you use POWR Popup and are considering an alternative, switching to Getsitecontrol can start with the campaigns you already run. You can keep your website and existing email provider, recreate your popups in Getsitecontrol, and check the forms and integrations before replacing the live versions.

Getsitecontrol provides 24/7 live support, including on Free. The team can help with popup design, mobile adjustments, targeting, integrations, and migration. You can request a custom template, help refining the offer, or assistance matching the mobile design to your site. The team can also help recreate an existing popup and set up its display rules, so you have support with the campaign itself as well as installation.

If you want to bring your audience across, import contacts from CSV or supported services and map the fields and tags you need. Preserve subscription status and the preferences you already collected. Alternatively, connect Getsitecontrol to your current email platform and keep the established follow-ups there. Before replacing a live form, check its pages, mobile design, success message, and delivery of a test signup to the intended destination.

Which popup builder should you choose?

Choose Getsitecontrol if you want a popup tool that can support the next stage of your marketing. Its free plan gives you room to collect signups and build useful forms; Pro adds precise targeting and testing; Pro Max removes the display limit at $29/month. Contact management and email campaign tools are available throughout, with sending billed separately.

POWR Popup can suit a simple, low-volume campaign. But Starter keeps the same 25-submission cap as Free, and its listed unlimited-submission option costs $98.99/month. That makes its low entry price less compelling when your goal is to grow.

Getsitecontrol gives you the design freedom, adaptable forms, audience controls, and testing tools to make a campaign more successful. Contact segments and email follow-ups help turn those extra signups into lasting relationships. Start with the campaign you need today, and aim for the audience you want to reach next.

Common questions

What is a good POWR Popup alternative?

Getsitecontrol is a good POWR Popup alternative for businesses that want more room to grow their list and manage the marketing that follows. Free includes unlimited live popups, 10,000 monthly displays without a signup cap, conditional forms, detailed analytics, contact segments, and email campaign tools. Pro adds advanced targeting, branching, and popup and email A/B testing for $19/month. Email sends are billed separately.

How does Getsitecontrol pricing compare with POWR Popup?

POWR Starter has a lower paid entry price but keeps a 25-submission monthly allowance. Getsitecontrol Pro costs $19/month for 100,000 displays without a signup cap, and Pro Max costs $29/month for unlimited displays. POWR Business lists unlimited submissions at $98.99/month. Getsitecontrol retains existing customers' original subscription prices and offers multi-site discounts and custom plans on request. Email sending is separate.

What is the POWR Popup free-plan limit?

The published standalone and Shopify Popup Free plans allow 25 submissions per month. Standalone Free also limits each popup to five content blocks. Starter keeps the 25-submission allowance; Pro raises it to 1,000. If you're looking for a POWR alternative with a more generous free plan, Getsitecontrol includes unlimited live popups and 10,000 monthly displays with no separate signup cap.

Can POWR Popup send follow-up emails?

POWR Popup can send an automatic reply after submission, with availability depending on the platform and plan. It does not include newsletters, multistep nurturing sequences, or abandoned-checkout campaigns. If you want a tool that supports more advanced email marketing, consider Getsitecontrol. Its Free plan includes personalized sequences, segmented broadcasts, and core automations alongside the popup builder, with email sends billed separately after initial credits.

Which is better for a Shopify store, Getsitecontrol or POWR Popup?

Getsitecontrol is the better choice for Shopify stores that want targeted upselling, cross-selling, and ongoing email marketing. Its native Shopify app includes add-to-cart and apply-discount popup buttons on Free, with product, cart, and customer targeting on Pro. POWR Popup lacks those native targeting conditions and shopping actions. Getsitecontrol also supports abandoned-checkout and post-purchase emails, with sending billed separately.
